Chelmsford sits in Middlesex County, roughly 24 miles east of our Northborough shop, and about 25 miles from the coast. That puts a clapboard siding job here inside our normal working radius, so the crew arrives with the right materials on the first morning instead of making a supply run mid-job. We also work regularly in Westford, Carlisle, Littleton, so the drive is routine rather than an excursion.
Inland walls fail at the joints, not in the middle of a panel. Every wet night that drops below freezing turns trapped moisture into a small wedge, and a season of those wedges is what separates a wall that lasts thirty years from one that needs attention in eight. Chelmsford is 25 miles from the coast, so salt is not the issue here — the freeze-thaw cycle is, and it runs all winter. That is exactly why we help Chelmsford, MA homeowners choose clapboard siding that stands up to it.
The housing stock across Middlesex County runs to colonials and garrisons on mature suburban lots, interleaved with capes that have been extended once or twice and the occasional pre-1900 farmhouse. Between Westford, Carlisle and Chelmsford itself we see that whole range in a single working week, which is why a clapboard siding quote here starts with a survey of the wall rather than a price per square.
Chelmsford borders Westford, Carlisle, Littleton and Acton, and we run clapboard siding jobs across all of them from the same shop — so scheduling a Chelmsford project rarely waits on crew availability.
With an expected lifespan of 25–40 years, clapboard siding is a long-term investment for Chelmsford homeowners — ideal for historic homes and homeowners who want authentic New England character. Owner Ezequias Lobo personally oversees every job since 2007. Explore our clapboard siding across Massachusetts, or pair it with vinyl siding and hardie plank.
